Staff Welfare

Staff Housing
Each housing unit is made up of a bedroom and a lounge, veranda, bathroom, kitchen and toilet.
Due to most of the staff’s commute, and in accordance with international best practice, the factory has changing rooms where the staff can safely store their protective equipment and clothing, so that they don’t have to take it home each day.
Staff Canteen
We provide meals for all our staff throughout the day, as well as in the evening for those on the night shift. The provision of meals is continuous, especially when the tea factory has a lot of leaf to process, when it can be operating for nearly 24 hours.
Staff Medical
All of the staff working inside the tea factory are required by law to have an annual medical check. We supplement this with a voluntary screening for TB and parasites, which is arranged with the nearby government hospital. We also arrange any medical care required by the staff at the government hospital.
Staff Shop
The company operates a small provisions store on site where the goods are sold at below retail prices, freeing those living in the nearby villages from having to travel to town, some 5kms away, for basic supplies.
We take great pride in the tea we produce, and have programs in place to support those who work with us, including community based projects, and those directly related to staff welfare, such as housing, facilities and education.
